Brew Run by Atomic is a sustainable coffee delivery service that brings freshly roasted handcrafted coffee to customers' doorsteps while promoting eco-friendly practices through the use of reusable canisters, and streamline the coffee production and delivery management processes.

One of the key aspects that made the Brew Run by Atomic project unique and innovative was the fact that the concept of a coffee delivery service with a reusable canister system did not already exist in the market. This presented an exciting opportunity for Atomic Coffee Roasters to introduce a novel and eco-friendly approach to coffee delivery, setting them apart from other conventional coffee providers.

The concept of replicating the convenience of a milk run further added to the innovation of the project. Milk runs, also known as milk delivery routes, have been a traditional way of delivering fresh milk to homes and businesses for decades. By adopting this concept and applying it to coffee delivery, Brew Run by Atomic aimed to provide customers with the same level of convenience and reliability they experience with milk runs, while also ensuring the freshness and sustainability of their coffee products.

The checkout process was designed to be seamless and efficient. Minimizing the number of steps required for checkout, removing unnecessary distractions and keeping the focus on finalizing the order quickly.

To enable swift coffee selection, a one-click "Add to Cart" functionality was implemented. When customers found the coffee they wanted, they could simply click the "+" button, and the item was instantly added to their shopping cart. This feature eliminated the need for customers to navigate through multiple pages to complete their selection.

Navigation was designed to be intuitive and seamless, with a clean layout reminiscent of a coffee shop. A fixed “Confirm Order” button displayed the current price of selected items in the cart and design allowed users to access their selections without leaving the page. This way, users could easily review their choices and continue exploring coffee options without interruption.

The reusable canister system was a crucial aspect of the Brew Run by Atomic service. The website needed to implement a mechanism for customers to pay a deposit for the canister during their first order, and also allow them to return the empty canister for a refill without any additional charge. The back-end admin panel was equipped with features to track canister inventory, manage canister returns, and process refunds if necessary.

One of the essential features of the Brew Run was the implementation of a subscription model, allowing customers to subscribe to recurring deliveries of their favourite coffee based on their preferences. The subscription model aimed to offer convenience to customers, ensuring they never ran out of coffee while also fostering customer loyalty and retention.

The first step was to create a user-friendly and intuitive subscription setup process. We designed a dedicated section in the order confirmation process where customers could quickly choose their desired frequency of deliveries, whether it be a one off purchase, or recurring weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly.

To cater to customers seeking recurring deliveries, we designed a subscription model with customizable options. Customers could set their preferred frequency and coffee preferences, enabling them to "select and forget" about their future orders while enjoying a continuous supply of freshly roasted coffee.

As part of the Brew Run web application, we developed a robust and efficient Delivery Driver Management System, specifically tailored to streamline order processing, optimize delivery routes, and ensure timely and accurate coffee deliveries to customers within the Kingsland area. This system empowers the delivery drivers with the necessary tools to manage their orders and deliveries effectively.

To ensure a smooth delivery process, the Delivery Driver Management System assigns orders to drivers based on their availability, proximity to the delivery location, and existing workload. When a customer places an order through the Brew Run app, the system automatically allocates the delivery to an available driver, minimizing delays and optimizing route planning.

Drivers can access their assigned orders through a user-friendly mobile application. The app provides real-time updates on new orders, order details, and customer information. With this information at their fingertips, drivers can plan their routes efficiently and navigate to each delivery location with ease.

As a key part of the sustainability initiative, the Delivery Driver Management System incorporates a module dedicated to managing canister collection and refill processes. When delivering new orders, drivers collect empty canisters from previous deliveries, ensuring they are returned to the roastery for washing and refilling.
